Delete PDF Pages

Select unwanted pages, remove them and download the new PDF

Delete pages from a PDF in a few clicks: open the file, click the thumbnails of the pages you want to remove, delete them and save. You can remove a single page, several scattered pages or most of the document, and put the remaining pages in a new order before saving.

The tool is free, with no account, and runs in your browser: your PDF is processed on your device and not sent anywhere. You get a new PDF, and the original file stays as it was.

How it works

  1. Open your PDF Drop the file on the upload area or click it to choose it. Thumbnails of the pages appear one after another, with none selected: wait for the last one before you select, delete or save pages.

  2. Select the pages to remove Click each page you want to delete; a check mark appears on it. To keep only a few pages, press "All", then click the pages you want to keep to deselect them.

  3. Delete them Press the red "Delete" button. The selected pages disappear from the grid and the counter updates.

  4. Reorder if needed Drag the remaining pages into a new order, or turn a page with its rotate button.

  5. Save the new PDF Press "Save and download". The file downloads with _pages_deleted added to its name, for example report_pages_deleted.pdf, and the "File ready" panel offers tools such as Compress or Merge.

Selecting the right pages

Each thumbnail shows two numbers: the badge in the top-left corner is the page's number in the original file, and the number at the bottom is its position in the new document. The badge helps you match pages with a table of contents or a list of pages to remove.

Click a page, or focus it with the Tab key and press Enter or Space, to select or deselect it. "All" and "None" change the whole selection at once, and the counter in the toolbar shows how many pages are left and how many are selected.

Blank pages are not detected automatically: look for them in the grid and select them like any other page.

Check the result before you save

Deleting only changes the working copy on screen, so you can still look over the grid before saving. There is no undo for a single step, but "Reset changes" brings back every page in its original order and rotation. On a long document, wait for the last thumbnail before you press "Save and download": a copy saved earlier holds only the pages already shown.

Remaining pages can be dragged to a new place, or moved with "Move up" and "Move down" when they are selected. The rotate button on a thumbnail turns that page by 90 degrees, and "Rotate all" turns every page.

Pages are copied into the new file as they are, without re-encoding, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality. A deleted page does not come along, even when a page you keep links to it, as a table of contents entry does: the link stays but leads nowhere. The bookmarks of the original, its layers and its properties, such as the title, do not come along: a hidden layer becomes visible, and a link to a named destination leads nowhere. Images, fonts and drawings that only deleted pages use are removed too. One catch for confidential files: the other half of a two-page spread stays inside the new file, although no reader shows it, as does all that a page shares with others when the tool cannot read its content for sure or that content is too large to check, which a message then tells you. When that matters, turn the pages you keep into images with PDF to JPG, then rebuild the file with JPG to PDF.

Delete, extract or split: which tool to use

  • Use this page when you want to drop some pages and keep the rest.
  • When you only need a handful of pages from a long file, Extract pages lets you type the pages or ranges to keep instead of deleting everything else.
  • To cut a document into several files, use Split.
  • This page uses the same page grid as Organize and Rotate PDF, so you can also reorder, rotate or duplicate pages here without switching tools.
  • To add pages from another PDF, combine the files with Merge first, then remove what you do not need here.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I delete several pages at once?

Click every page you want to remove so each shows a check mark, then press "Delete". All selected pages go in one step.

How do I keep only a few pages?

Press "All", click the pages you want to keep to deselect them, then press "Delete". If you know their numbers, Extract pages may be quicker.

Can I undo a deletion?

There is no step-by-step undo. "Reset changes" restores all pages as they were when you opened the file, and nothing is saved until you press "Save and download".

Does the tool find blank pages for me?

No. Blank pages are not detected automatically, so spot them in the thumbnails and select them yourself.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. It is processed in your browser, on your device, and not sent anywhere.

Will the original file change?

No. Saving creates a new file named after the original with _pages_deleted added, such as report_pages_deleted.pdf. The original stays as it was.

Is there a page or size limit?

There is no account, no daily quota and no usage counter. Since the tool runs in your browser, there is no file size cap: only your device's memory matters.

Does removing pages reduce the quality?

No. The pages you keep are copied as they are, without re-encoding. One exception: a PDF protected by a password is not supported, even one that opens without asking for it, so remove the protection first with Unlock PDF if you know the password.
