PDF Tools for Small Business
Quotes, invoices and contracts: convert, merge, watermark, number, sign and protect them
These PDF tools for small business handle the everyday paperwork of a company without buying software: quotes and invoices turned into PDFs, contracts signed and sent with a password, brochures made lighter for email. They are free, with no account, no subscription and no watermark on your documents.
Recommended Tools
Word to PDF
Convert a quote, an invoice or a contract written in Word into a PDF. It accepts .docx, .doc, .odt and .rtf files, converted with LibreOffice; check fonts, line breaks and page breaks in the PDF.
Merge PDF
Put a month of invoices or receipts into one PDF for your accountant, in the order you choose, without uploading them.
Add a Watermark
Mark drafts with text such as DRAFT or COPY, centered, in a corner or tiled across the page. A PNG or JPG logo can be centered or placed in a corner.
Page Numbers
Number a proposal or a catalog as 1, 2, 3, as Page X of Y or in Roman numerals, starting from any number and leaving out the cover page.
Sign PDF
Sign a quote or a delivery note with a drawn, typed or imported signature that you place and resize on any page.
Protect PDF
Encrypt a signed contract or a price quote with AES-256 before you send it: the password is required to open the file.
Compress PDF
Reduce the size of a brochure or a photo-heavy catalog before you email it, with three levels to choose from; real text stays sharp and selectable.
Common Use Cases
- Send a quote as a PDF instead of an editable Word file
- Collect a month of invoices into one file for your accountant
- Put your logo on a price list or a brochure
- Number the pages of a proposal, starting after the cover
- Sign a contract and return it by email
- Email a contract protected by a password
From quote to signed agreement
A common sequence: convert the quote with Word to PDF, then choose Sign PDF in the "File ready" panel, then Protect. Each step hands the file to the next tool as long as you do not reload the page, and each result is also downloaded.
Protect PDF sets one password, which is required to open the file. Share it through a different channel from the email that carries the document, for example by phone. Printing stays allowed, and there are no permission settings to choose.
Word documents and fonts
Word to PDF converts one file at a time, up to 4 MB, and names the PDF after your document. The server writes a temporary copy for the conversion and deletes it right after.
The conversion server does not have Microsoft fonts such as Calibri, Cambria or Aptos installed. If your template relies on them or on a brand font, open the PDF and check the line and page breaks before you send it.
Invoices and customer data
Merge PDF, Add a watermark, Page numbers and Sign PDF work in your browser, so invoices and contracts stay on your computer during those steps. Word to PDF, Compress a PDF, Protect PDF and Redact PDF send the file over HTTPS to our server in Paris, which processes it and deletes it when the task ends.
Before you forward a document to a supplier or a customer, Redact PDF can hide a bank account number or a home address: the text under each box is removed from the page, not just covered, along with the form fields, comments and links under it. The title and author in the file properties, bookmarks and the files attached to the document stay as they are, so check them too, along with the lines next to each box; the accessibility tags of a tagged PDF lose the redacted text too, except in rare cases.
